Join us for a tour of “Moderate Physical Pressure” with artist Manar Zuabi (b. 1964, Nazareth) and the exhibition’s curator, Tamar Margalit.
The first part of the tour will focus on Zuabi’s new installation, composed entirely of pantyhose and wool threads, and created especially for the Center’s Ground Floor Gallery. The installation is the result of a unique collaboration between the artist and five emerging artists – students and recent graduates of various art institutions – developed as part of a special mentoring class supported by the Rywkind Ben Zour Grant for Art, Education, and Community.
Participants in the mentoring class will join Zuabi and Margalit to discuss the new work and the process that led to its creation.
The second part of the walkthrough will focus on the body of works presented on the floor above that reflects two decades of artistic production. Zuabi and Margalit will discuss the artist’s practice and the ideas that underpin the exhibition, which is the first institutional solo exhibition for the artist in central Israel.
The event will be held in Hebrew
Duration: 60 minutes
Participation is included with admission (20 NIS)
